Abstract
Aim of the study: The implant-prosthetic treatment must be adapted to each clinical case, as well as to each individual patient. There are patients for whom is most important the masticatory function, for others most important is the aesthetic function. From this point of view, the clinician must be prepared to make the best choice related to the treatment modality. The moment of implant insertion relative to the moment of extraction of the natural tooth is one of the decisions that the implantologist must make. There are several options for insertion, immediately post-extraction, or after a period of bone healing, each method having advantages and disadvantages. Materials and methods: The present study tracked data from articles published in recent years related to the appropriateness of using different implant insertion methods. A number of 30 articles were analyzed. Results and discution: It was observed that, although there are variations in the results obtained, there is a consensus that the moment of insertion of the implants does not have a significant influence on the final success of the implant-prosthetic treatment, if a correct analysis of the case is made and the most convenient method for the respective case is chosen. Conclusion: That is why it is necessary for the doctor to know as many details as possible related to each of the methods, and for this, in the future, more studies are needed to have a clearer picture of the benefits of their use.
