ABSTRACT

An essential aspect in the clinical finality of the prosthetic constructions, to be found in the specialized literature, is the agreement between the biomaterials used, the technological method of choice and the particularity of the edentulous patient’s prosthetic field. The resistant and flexible nature of the material fits perfectly with the particularities of the clinical cases, simplifying the design, making the flexible resin behave as a true force breaker, which ensures a superior functionality and an optimum force distribution. This study analyzes the biomechanical behaviour of flexible acrylates, compared to conventional acrylates, using mathematical modeling.

The generation of a network is based on the discretization of the computational domain. The network for the finite difference method consists of a set of points, which are called nodes. These nodes are joined by grid lines. As a conclusion, the choice of the discretization system depends on several factors: advantage in generating the network, memory requirements for the computing system, numerical accuracy obtained, flexibility in adapting to complex geometries, flexibility in locating regions where high accuracy is required, or with lower accuracy requirements.
