Abstract
Extensive epidemiological research has been conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in recent years to identify and validate associations between mental problems and physical illnesses. Research on the related effects of dental health is still in its infancy, despite the abundance of data linking mental health issues with more systemic health problems.A service is needed to meet the unmet demand of patients presenting with unrecognized and untreated mental disorders in dentistry practices, considering the incidence and impact of these disorders. This research sets out to examine the significance of an interdisciplinary approach for each psychiatric patient, as well as the bidirectional interdependence among mental, oral, and somatic health.
