ABSTRACT
Aim of the study: The goal of this paper is to highlight the prosthetic methods, the combination of mixed maxillary prosthetic appliance – mandibular prosthetic appliance on implants. Materials and methods: For each clinical situation there is a wide range of types of prosthetic appliances that partially or totally restore the morphology and functions of the stomatognathic system. Results and discussion: The mixed prosthetic combination on one of the jaws associated to the prosthesis on implants on the other jaw is currently recommended due to the local clinical situations that may indicate or counter indicate a therapeutic prosthetic method. Conclusions In accordance with patient’s wishes, social-economic situation and the morphologic and functional characteristics of the prosthetic field, a therapeutic algorithm is established so that we may have a minimum loss of healthy tissues and the preservation of the existing functions
