ABSTRACT

Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS) is a severe clinical and biochemical dysfunction of two or several organs or systems, occurring simultaneously with or subsequently to acute illness. MODS is potentially reversible with therapeutic intervention or irreversible. We are presenting the case of an 8-year-old girl with risk factors for MODS during the 2017-2018 flu season. The respiratory starting point and the response from the host body determined a fulminant evolution with premature death within 24 hours after admission into intensive care
